Mission Statement
The Junior League of Omaha is an organization of women
committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and
improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained
volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
Reach Out Statement
The Junior League of Omaha reaches out to women of all races,
religions, and national origins, who demonstrate an interest in and a
commitment to volunteerism.
We will accomplish our
mission by:
- Providing a
motivating and supportive environment that stimulates members.
- Participation
increasing our impact in the Omaha community by effectively coordinating
our resources with community needs.
- Maintaining
financial stability through our annual funds and fundraising events.
- Providing
comprehensive training opportunities to develop volunteers to better serve
the community.
- Communicating
and promoting the organization's mission and historical significance to
our membership and the community.
POSITION STATEMENTS:
Health
The
JLO promotes the physical, social and emotional well being of its membership
and our community by encouraging responsible personal behavior. The JLO is committed to support and develop
policies, programs and services, which benefit the health of our community.
Education
The
JLO is committed to support legislation and policies that provide opportunities
to meet the intellectual needs of all individual members of our community. The JLO advocates education as an essential
tool to enhance the potential of all individuals and to promote awareness of
important issues facing our community.
Family
The
JLO is committed to advocating for all individual members of our community,
particularly children and those otherwise unable to advocate on their own
behalf, to obtain fair and equal opportunities and services, with emphasis on
the promotion and provision of family services.
Culture
The JLO recognizes
the importance of the arts, cultural diversity and historic preservation to all
Nebraskans and advocates support of legislation at all levels of government to
provide our community with quality programs and services.
