Actives
Active
members are those who have completed the requirements for Provisional
membership and who, having been admitted to Active membership, justify such
membership through service to their communities and their League. A Junior League member may continue her
Active membership indefinitely but may elect to become a Sustaining member upon
completion of five (5) years as an Active member. (Body of Law, Article IV. Membership)
Active members in the Junior League of Omaha have the
following engagements:

Placement

All Active members must complete an in-league placement or
an approved community placement.

2.
Placement
Interviews -
|
All Active members must complete a placement interview
with their Placement Director.
|
|
3.
Annual
Dues-
|
All Active members must pay annual dues of an Active
member set forth in Article V, Section 1 of the by-laws, and otherwise be in
good financial standing.

|
4.
JLO
Pillars -
|
All Active members must complete the engagements listed
within the three pillars of the Junior League of Omaha. Members will also be responsible for
completing a set number of menu selections to be determined on a yearly basis
by each Council and approved by the Board of Directors.

** A double placement would satisfy the additional menu
requirement in each of the three pillars and would automatically include
members selected to be on the Nominating Committee (excluding the
Vice-Chairman), Members at Large and Leadership Academy participants.
InActives
An Active
member in good standing may request to be placed on InActive Status. InActive Status requests may be made by
noting such status on the JLO dues card, completing an InActive Status Request
form at the Open Placement Fair or informing the Placement Chairman in
writing. InActive Status will be
granted for the period of one placement year or the remainder thereof (the
remainder of a year shall be considered a full year). As of June 1, 1994, a member may take InActive Status for no more
than two consecutive years. InActive
Year(s) do not count towards years of Active Service for purposes of obtaining
Sustainer Status. (Standing Rules,

The current
InActive membership engagements are:
1.
All Inactive
members must complete a spring placement interview with their Placement
Director.
2.
All
Inactive members must pay annual dues of an Active member set forth in Article
V, Section 1 of the by-laws, and otherwise be in good financial standing.
3.
Purchase
a $60 Junior League of Omaha Fundraiser ticket or work two 3-hour shifts.
4.
Donate
merchandise valued at $250 to the Jumble Shop by your Quota Due Date.
Community
Placement
Members who
have been Active for more than two years and desire placement other than within
the League program shall submit a Community Placement Request form describing
the community job or creative endeavor that justifies Junior League placement
credit through quality of service. A
member with less than two years Active service may apply to the Board for
special consideration. (Standing Rules,

Advisory
An Active
member in good standing may request to be placed on advisory status. Advisory status requests may be made by noting
such status on the JLO dues card, or informing the placement chairman in
writing prior to February 1st.
Advisory status will be granted to members who have completed seven
years of Active service in the JLO with no more than two years service in a community
placement. A member on advisory status
must complete a new advisory request form each year that member wishes to
remain on advisory status. A member on
advisory status may return at any time during any placement year. ((Standing

Non Resident
Active and
Sustaining members who are living at a distance from their Junior League area
sufficient to make fulfillment of the volunteer service or other requirements
impossible shall be granted the Non-Resident privilege and may not vote, hold
office or propose candidates for membership.
Non-Resident Active members who live in an area in which there is a
Junior League may retain the privilege for a period not to exceed two years.
