MEMBER STATUS
NEW MEMBER
New members are those who are
engaged in complying with the requirements for admission to Active membership.
New members shall be required to complete a training course within 12 months
after accepting New membership. (Body of Law, Article IV. Membership, Section
1a)
ACTIVE
Active members are those who
have completed the requirements for New Membership and who, having been
admitted to Active membership, justify such membership through service to their
communities and their League. A Junior League member may continue her Active
membership indefinitely, but may elect to become a Sustaining member upon
completion of six (6) years as an Active member. (Body of Law, Article IV.
Membership, Section 1b)
INACTIVE
An Active member in good
standing may request to be placed on Inactive Status. Inactive Status will be
granted for the period of one placement year or the remainder thereof (the
remainder of a year shall be considered a full year). A member may take
Inactive Status for no more than two consecutive years. Inactive Year(s) do not
count towards years of Active Service for purposes of obtaining Sustainer

COMMUNITY PLACEMENT
Members who have been Active
for more than two years and desire placement other than within the League
program shall submit a Community Placement Request Form describing the
community job or creative endeavor that justifies Junior League placement
credit through quality of service. A member with less than two years Active
service may apply to the Board for special consideration. Each Community
Placement is for one year only. (Standing Rules, VII. Placement, Types of

ADVISORY
Advisory status will be granted
to members who have completed seven years of Active service in the JLO with no
more than two years' service in a Community Placement. (Standing Rules, VII.
Placement, Advisory Status, 1)
SUSTAINER
The Junior League of Omaha
(JLO) welcomes all League members who, after a minimum of seven fully placed
Active years of Junior League service, excluding inactive years, choose to
become a sustainer member. We also enthusiastically welcome sustainers
transferring from other Leagues. (Body of Law, Article IV. Membership, Section
1d)
SUSTAINER EMERITUS
Sustaining Emeritus members are
those members who have reached the age of 80 or above. (Body of Law, Article
IV. Membership, Section 1e)
NON-RESIDENT ACTIVE (NRA)
Active and Sustaining members
who are living at a distance from their Junior League area sufficient to make
fulfillment of the volunteer service or other requirements impossible shall be
granted the Non-Resident Active privilege and may not vote, hold office or
propose candidates for membership. Non-Resident Active members who live in an
area in which there is a Junior League may retain the privilege for a period
not to exceed two years. (Body of Law, Article IV. Membership, Section 3d)
