The Junior
League of Omaha (JLO) New Member aka Provisional course is comprised of four
components:
Way of the City - New Members will learn about JLO's
relationship with Omaha arts organizations, social service health and education
agencies through informative speakers and on-site visits.
In-League Training - New Members learn about JLO history,
structure, strategic plan, by-laws, projects, fundraisers and finances from
current and past JLO leaders.
Volunteer Training - These class sessions allow New Members to
develop necessary skills for effective volunteer leadership such as
parliamentary procedure, committee structure, budgeting and more.
Active Volunteering - A requirement of all JLO members, New
Members will put their learned skills to the test with a series of hands-on
volunteer opportunities with local agencies and programs.
In addition to these components, new members will also help
support existing JLO projects and fundraisers, including H.I.P. (Healthy
Inspired Proactive) Kids, the Junior League of Omaha's My Closet, and the
American Girl Fashion Show.
