The Junior League of Omaha, Inc.'s Done In A Day (DIAD)
project enables the League to assist community agencies which do not have a
need for League volunteers on an ongoing basis, but may have a need to staff a
one or two day special event or have a onetime need for extra
volunteers. All requests must be in writing and meet the following
requirements:
In accordance with the Association of Junior Leagues
International (AJLI), the Junior League of Omaha supports the Done
in a Day (DIAD) project. It provides a quick response, or short-term
project support, for various community agencies. When non-profit
organizations need assistance in achieving their goals that require additional
volunteer resources, the JLO provides a dedicated response.
Requirements: Projects must meet and encompass the Junior League
Mission Statement and ideals. Acceptable projects for consideration require 5
to 20 volunteers and must be completed within a 4-8 hour work session. The
project cannot involve fundraising of any kind for the
organization. Volunteers will also not be provided for administrative
needs (i.e. Envelope stuffing, etc.). Requests for volunteers must be made
at least 6 weeks in advance to be considered and all form fields must be filled
in. DIAD requests will be presented to members of the Junior League and
participation is encouraged but we cannot guarantee volunteers.
